In a nutshell, fitness is defined as the state of being physically fit and healthy.
“Fitness” is a broad term that means something different to each person but it usually refers to optimal health and overall well-being. Being fit not only means physical health, but emotional and mental health too. The most important thing about fitness is feeling like I WANT to do it, not doing it because I feel I HAVE to do it! Finding the style of exercise that makes you feel good, is a great start. For me, I love weights and slow controlled exercises.
When I first started I couldn’t do 1 press up, lift or squat or use anything remotely heavy. Now when I reflect on how far I have come, it brings me great joy, to feel strong inside as well on the outside. My competitor is myself!! I can only go on my own personal journey, but at 50 I feel great physically and mentally.
