For those who know me I’m a woman who loves weights and little cardio. Running has never been my thing, probably because I find it difficult and it makes me feel like I’m going to die lol!!
We all stick to things that we find a little easier, change is harder than sticking to what we know.
I’ve set myself a little challenge. I’m going to push myself out of that comfort zone and up my cardio game. This does not mean I’m going to run miles or run marathons, I just want to improve my cardio level. I think for some this is where they go wrong. When trying something new always take small steps, those small steps then become big step, you will be surprised in what you can achieve.
If your out of shape you likely will want to start just by mostly walking with 30 seconds of running put in here and there. Fast walking for 20 minutes and maybe 1 minute of running can definitely get your heart rate up.
Interval training is a great way to start. Running for 1 minute then walking for 1 minute, maybe do this for 10 minutes.

Chances are also high that the first mile of every single run will probably feel slow, frustrating, or even bad, but that’s perfectly normal as your body warms up. Give your body a moment to shift into an aerobic state, and ease into your speed with a steady focus on your breath.
I often get asked will running give me visible abs! For abs to be visible you will need to reduce your body fat. If you have a lot of body fat to lose then running is a great cardiovascular form of exercise, which in return is one of the best ways of reducing body fat levels. The faster you run the more calories you burn.
I’m not going to lie I did my first session and was out of puff quite often. I now run twice a week and feel it is definitely getting easier.
As I say “if you’re moving, you’re improving”
Change is always hard, let me know if you have any running tips or if you’ve tried any new fitness things! Jx
